A disaster for politics

16 February, 2018

• THE local Labour dictatorship is clearly great for certain individuals, but for politics and the community it’s a disaster as it stifles debate and criticism when there is no opposition.

Using a £1million PR team looks weak at a time when 50 per cent of children are living below the poverty line. Children being hungry should be against the law.

Recently, we were informed that the council has an idea that would save £400,000 on lighting. It’s such a pity this bright spark of an idea didn’t happen four years ago as it would have saved £1.6million, which could have fed a lot of hungry kids.
