Academy primary school to open in Finsbury

Purpose-built school will have its own governing body, teachers, vision, values and curriculum

04 December, 2016

THE City of London is to open a primary school in Islington in September next year.

The City of London Primary Academy Islington will be temporarily located at Moreland Primary School, in Finsbury, until its permanent site at nearby Golden Lane is finished in September 2019.

The purpose-built school will have its own governing body, teachers, vision, values and curriculum, the City of London Corporation said.

In preparation for the opening, headteacher Kim Clapham is holding parent information events. She said: “We welcome Moreland as our home for the next two years. This site offers our pupils a great learning environment, with exclusive use of our own zoned area of the building, complete with sky garden and outdoor terraces.”
