Bandstand concerts are back on Hampstead Heath

22 June, 2017 — By Sebastian Taylor

Guitarist John Etheridge

Bandstand concerts are in full swing again on Hampstead Heath with a plethora of great performances over the next two months.
Virtuoso Hampstead guitarist John Etheridge is playing two gigs in coming days.

This Friday evening (June 23), he’s playing with sensational new vocal star Hampstead songstress Vimala Rowe at the Parliament Hill Bandstand (7pm, free). Expect an evening of passion and soul.

Then, on Thursday June 29, he’s playing an afternoon gig with his Sweet Chorus quartet at the Golders Hill Park café (North End Way, Hampstead, 7pm, free). Sweet Chorus takes its cue from legendary group Hot Club of France featuring Stephan Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. It features Etheridge’s dazzling guitar work and the scintillating violin of Chris Garrick.

Expect breathtaking sallies through old and contemporary repertoire.
