AN actor from the hit TV show Games of Thrones has paid a visit to a Newington Green theatre company to show his support for their new play.

Ed Skrein, who is originally from Camden and Islington, and now stars in hit Hollywood films, visited The Big House Theatre based in Mildmay Community Centre on Monday. The company aims to allow care leavers and young people at risk of social exclusion to fulfil their potential, helping them to live independently and develop life skills through drama.

Their next play, Pheonix Rising, is a re-staging of the acclaimed debut play that launched The Big House four years ago. Now with a new cast, it follows the problems faced by an 18-year old leaving care.

Phoenix Rising will run from November 8 to December 2 in a space under Smithfield Meat Market.
