HUNDREDS turned out to The Big Jewish Summer Fete in Highbury Fields at the weekend.
The second annual event on Sunday was organised by charity Chabad Islington to celebrate Jewish culture and promote community cohesion and tolerance.
Rabbi Mendy Korer said: “We want a vibrant and dynamic Islington, but also a safe and tolerant one too.
“Promoting community cohesion and fostering good relationships between communities is at the very heart of Chabad Islington’s vision.

“That is why, as the main voice of the Jewish community in Islington, we celebrate our rich culture and show publicly we are a welcoming, inclusive and meaningful group.”
Highlights included a hummus tasting bar, a Jewish choir and speakers’ corner with a series of short talks on Jewish culture.
There were also arts and crafts by the Jewish Museum, kosher ice cream and bagels, and a puppet-making workshop.
