THE future certainly looks bright for Kentish Town Football Academy with some of their youngest stars being tracked by a host of eagle-eyed professional clubs.
And it’s little wonder, with Town’s Under-8s, who compete in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League, impressing yet again when they tackled teams representing Championship club Queens Park Rangers and League One side AFC Wimbledon in two recent friendlies.
Town manager Thomas Looney said, “It was a great chance for the boys to go and showcase their talent. There’s some special players in this age group, and I don’t expect to have them all next season.
“We’ve got three boys already with Spurs’ pre-academy, while winger Teddie Head is getting a lot interest from a host of top clubs.
“It’s the main reason why we set up the club, so that local kids can have a chance to play against pro clubs.
“We have been working really hard behind the scenes to try and get games against the biggest and best, and now that hard work is starting to pay off.”
