Brandon Allen premieres his new show Suite Soho at Ronnie Scott’s

Noted Highgate hardbopper Brandon Allen is premiering his new show Suite Soho at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho tomorrow evening (June 10).

Written in six parts, Suite Soho seeks to reflect the different faces of Soho life, its rich history and much-loved institutions. It is being performed against the backdrop of photographs and film footage of Soho over the years and the various writers, artists and musicians who have whiled their time away in the area.

Performing the piece is Brandon Allen’s All-Star Sextet together with a string quartet involving violinist Alice Zawadski.

A longstanding resident of Highgate, the tenor saxophonist has been responsible for putting on the highly successful Highgate Jazz with Soul Festival in recent years. Although not taking place this autumn, the festival is expected to return next year.
