Brexit is a right-wing con

• YOUR correspondent complains that no progressive and left-wing case was made for Brexit (Does Labour listen to the Leavers?, January 26).

That is because there is no such case. The example given (nationalising the railways would go against EU rules) is incorrect. Article 345 of the EU Treaty permits nationalisation (and last time I looked SNCF was still the French state-owned railway).

Brexit is a right-wing con. So come on, Jeremy and Emily, get the people’s tanks onto those Tory lawns. That’s what you’re there for.
