Can May ride the violent tackles to score the winner?

• RICHARD Rosser is strong on the football metaphor when considering how Theresa May was bullied by the EU in Austria, (May moved the goalposts when she represented the UK at the European Fantasy Politics League, September 28)

I have no doubt we would all prefer to recall an episode that happened in that country and from which we can take immense pride. I refer, of course, to the “Lion of Vienna”, Nat Lofthouse OBE, who, undeterred by repeated violent foul tackles, scored the winner.
