A MOTHER of a stabbing victim is inviting people to join her in marking the first anniversary of her son’s death.
The candlelit vigil for Jonathon “JJ” McPhillips will be held at St Mary’s Church, in Upper Street, Islington, between 6pm and 7pm on Wednesday.
It has been organised by his mother, Michelle, a tireless anti-knife crime campaigner.
Michael Dyra, 22, from Hoxton, was charged with the murder of the father-of-two earlier this month. He is expected to appear at the Old Bailey on May 15 after being remanded in custody.
