THE Mayor of Islington joined schoolchildren at the VIP opening of a new trampoline park at Sobell Leisure Centre in Holloway.
Conversion of the centre sparked a six-month row between the Town Hall and five-a-side footballers fighting to preserve their indoor space. Some footballers play on the remaining courts, while the others have made way for the trampoline park.
Mayor Una O’Halloran led pupils from Hargrave Park School in testing the new attraction, part of a £3m upgrade of the centre. She said: “It was such a pleasure to see this new trampoline park in action. It’s full of imaginative and fun ways to get more out of the sport.”
