Tommy Corbyn: ‘The real sad part is that someone was willing to try and run me over with a moped for a phone he’ll struggle to get 50 quid for!’
LABOUR leader Jeremy Corbyn’s youngest son, Tommy, fell victim this week to a crime which has become common locally – phone snatching.
Mr Corbyn, 23, was walking through Holloway on Sunday night when a thief on a moped tried to “run me over” and snatched his mobile phone.
Writing online, he said: “Wasn’t expecting to get mugged on my own street walking home this evening. Friends, if you’re going to walk and text PLEASE be vigilant!
“Anyone in the Holloway area, keep your eyes peeled for someone with a black and white moped selling a Galaxy S5 with a cracked screen. I look forward to meeting him!”
Mr Corbyn, a University of York graduate, was unhurt.
He added: “The real sad part is that someone was willing to try and run me over with a moped for a phone he’ll struggle to get 50 quid for!
“I’m sure the guy who did it was more desperate than bad and I’m glad it happened to me and not someone who would’ve been badly affected by it.”
