Cyclist injured in Upper Street lorry collision

A CYCLIST is recovering in hospital after ­colliding with a lorry in Upper Street on ­Saturday.

The man, in his 50s, was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg after the crash, which occurred at around 5pm at the junction with Theberton Street. His condition is not life-threatening, the Met said.

A witness, who did not want to give their name, said: “The man looked in a pretty bad way when I went over to see him. I know he was taken [away] by air ambulance. A lot of ­people saw the accident and all want to know if the man is OK.”

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have been informed. There have been no arrests.
