Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

IT’S about the right time of year to show a goofy, end-of-school-term flick to get us all in the mood for the summer.

With this in mind, hats off to the Tufnell Park Film Club, which can be found every Tuesday in the Lord Palmerston pub in Dartmouth Park Hill.

This week, they are featuring Peter Yates’ Breaking Away. It tells the story of four school mates working out what they want to do now the bell has rung for the last time.

Bike-mad athlete Dave (Dennis Christopher) has designs on making it big in the sport – but when he hears all the world’s greatest cycling champs are Italian, he thinks he must learn the lingo.

Then he meets a real Italian racing team, and he and his buddies (Dennis Quaid, Daniel Stern, Jackie Earle Haley) decide to challenge them to a showdown… See www.tufnellparkfilmclub.com

• Look out for the latest Dino offering from the Jurassic Park team, which hits the screens this week.

Called Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the next instalment in this franchise that feels like it has been running since about the time an asteroid wiped out the real things, features Chris Pratt as Dino-whispering Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard as an animal-loving activist out to help the poor creatures.

The action kicks off where the last one ended, namely Isla Nublar is overrun with scaly creatures, and the island’s dormant volcano is about to go bang.

Jeff Goldblum’s scientist Dr Malcolm returns – hurray! – as they head to the island on a harum-scarum rescue mission.
