‘Don’t fly-tip your Christmas tree’ warns Islington council

04 January, 2019

TOWN Hall chiefs are warning residents against dumping their christmas trees on the streets.

There are nine sites across the borough where trees can be dropped off until January 20 and council workers will pick them up from houses on January 12 and 19. People living in flats above shops can put their trees in the normal recycling collection points to be picked up on January 6.

A spokesman for the council said: “Do not dump your tree on the pavement, at recycling sites or street corners. This is fly-tipping and is illegal.”
