Harriers squad hit the 26-mile road

Harriers’ Alistair Holland and Patrick Davis approach the six-mile mark during Sunday’s London Marathon
A TEAM of top athletes representing the Highgate Harriers were among the record-breaking crowd of more than 40,000 runners who took part in Sunday’s London Marathon.
Shaun Dixon clocked the club’s best time as he completed the capital’s 26.2-mile challenge in an impressive time of 2:32:26 to finish in 92nd place overall.
In total 14 runners from Highgate took part in the much-loved event, seven of whom finished in under three hours.
James Johnson clocked 2:33.25 to finish in 112th place, while Marcus Green finished in 2:36:04 to take 166th place.
Other stand-out results for the club were Daniel Higgins, who finished in 2:38:27 to take 260th place, Alistair Holland, who ran 2:42:41 to finish 427th, Mathew Pointon, who recorded a time of 2:43.47 to finish in 469th place, and Patrick Davis, who went round his first ever London Marathon in a time of 2:48.07 to finish in 701st spot.
