Health trust highly rated by the CQC
20 March, 2020
• THE Care Quality Commission (CQC) that regulate the health and social care sector have just released their latest inspection report for Whittington Health NHS Trust.
I am very pleased to let you know that overall we have been once again rated as “good” and as “outstanding” for caring.
Since our last CQC inspection we have dealt with increasing challenges and demands for our services.
It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my colleagues that, despite this, all of our services maintained or improved their rating.
I am especially proud that our community services, which provide over 793,000 appointments each year, are now rated as “outstanding”.
It will also not have escaped your attention that your local NHS is pulling out all the stops to respond to the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19.
I want to reassure everyone that Whittington Health, like the NHS as a whole, is well prepared to respond to the outbreak.
Whether it is responding to the challenges of coronavirus or at any other time you can be confident that you will get safe, effective and compassionate care at Whittington Health.
Now, more than ever, I want to publicly pay tribute to the hard work of everyone who works or volunteers at the trust.
While the CQC report acknowledges the high standards of care we provide every day, over the past few weeks I have seen once again how even when times are challenged all of my colleagues pull together, step-up, and go the extra mile for our patients.
I also want to ask you to play your part too. Regularly washing hands, covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze, and abiding by NHS advice for self-isolation will all make a real difference.
And if you do meet any of my team, please be kind. They are all working exceptionally hard to keep you, your loved ones, and everyone across Islington and Haringey safe and well.
