Help us bring some cheer at Christmas
10 November, 2017
THE chilly air is a sure sign Christmas is around the corner, a time of comfort and merriment for many but a time of dread for others.
While some will be planning holidays which might include skiing in the Alps or staying at home with family and tucking into mince pies, many elderly people will be alone with no one to wish them “Merry Christmas”.
The Islington Tribune is raising funds for our annual hamper appeal where a goodie box gift will be delivered to elderly residents spending the festive season alone, and we also remember families suffering hardship.
We are appealing to the borough’s residents and businesses to help us bring some cheer to those who need it most. Now in its sixth year, our hamper appeal will help let people know they have not been forgotten.
Your own ideas for a fundraising, whether it’s a hockey match, pub quiz or a jelly wrestle on Highbury Fields, will add to the number of hampers gifts we can send out. And we will make sure we feature your events in our pages, so let us know about them.
See below for details of how to help – no donation is too small.
And thank you for your generosity.
