A 50-YEAR-OLD woman appeared in court on Monday charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after a man was stabbed outside a station on Saturday night.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing outside Highbury and Islington station at 10.25pm. A man in his 30s was taken to an east London hospital for treatment. His condition is not life threatening.
A police cordon remained in place for most of the night, blocking entry to the station.
The stabbing was the latest incident in what is seen as escalating gun and knife crime on London’s streets, which resulted in 300 extra police officers being drafted in to patrol the capital over the weekend.
Tina Baillie, 50, of Highbury, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with the attack.
