How the health choir initiative was born

07 September, 2017

The Camden and Islington Choir

• THANK you for the article (Community comes together to sing their way to better health, August 31) about the Camden and Islington Choir.

This initiative arose from the grant given to the governors by the board to improve services for service users. The governors are elected by members of the trust and membership is open to all residents of Camden and Islington, staff and service users wherever they are from.

With money we were allocated we engaged Key Changes to run a choir, funded a co-ordinator so the women’s exercise class could continue and paid for improvements to the garden at the Crisis House.

The annual members’ meeting will be held at St Pancras Hospital on October 5 and all are welcome to hear how the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust has done in providing services for people with mental illness during the year.

Do join at: www.candi.nhs.uk or pick up a leaflet at the hospital.
