Mayor visits Wellbeing Hub
A COMUNITY centre has launched a new “hub” to strengthen community bonds post-Covid.
St Luke’s Parochial Trust in South Islington officially opened their Wellbeing Hub last week with Mayor of Islington Troy Gallagher on hand to cut the ribbon and celebrate the launch.
While St Luke’s is open to all ages, the Wellbeing Hub is aimed specifically at adults.
The goal is to combat social isolation and build community resilience through skills development and friendship building. During the pandemic, many in the borough suffered poor mental health and loneliness.
St Luke’s hopes to address some of the damage done by repeat lockdowns and months of enforced separation from friends and loved ones.
“Our vision is to bring people together, offering support to build wellbeing,” said Tsedal Menghistu, St Lukes’ Health and Wellbeing Officer.
