NEW Town Hall chiefs are due to be appointed.
Education and children’s services will be lead by Cllr Kaya Comer-Schwartz while Cllr Una O’Halloran will be community development chief.
The appointments were made after Cllr Joe Caluori announced he would be stepping down at the end of February after six years as head of education in the borough.
Cllr Comer-Schwartz said: “The potential of Islington’s young people is limitless; I am really driven to make sure that the council is doing all that it can to cultivate their futures and the future of Islington.
“I am determined to fulfil our commitment to make Islington the best place to grow up in.”
Cllr O’Halloran was mayor last year and currently holds the position of chairwoman of the policy and performance scrutiny committee.
She has represented Caledonian ward since 2014.
She said: “I am looking forward to getting started, and to working with the many local groups and charities that contribute so much to our wonderful borough.”
The pair are due to take up their roles on March 1.
