Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds – The Immersive Experience

25 November, 2019

From the moment you walk in the door, you’re transported to Victorian England, the scene of H.G. Wells’ 1898 novel War of the Worlds, about a Martian invasion. Dotdotdot – who has given us other wonderful experiences like SOMNAI – have turned an inconspicuous building in Aldgate into a unique immersive theatre experience.

With breathtaking life-like sets which even smell of London alleyways in the 19th century, superb performances by every single actor, and Jeff Wayne’s famous score to guide you as you travel, the tale is truly brought to life before your eyes.

The VR experiences, weaved through the night, which allow you to see, walk, and be thrown around in graphics much like a 90s video game, might not suit those with the queasiest of dispositions. Nevertheless, Jeff Wayne’s War of the World presents a cutting-edge way of storytelling that will certainly surprise and enchant all who dare to enter.
