A FORMER shiatsu teacher has decided to run every day for a year to raise money for charity.
Ken Hettiarachi (pictured), who lives just off Caledonian Road, is aiming to raise £3,650 for the Hunger Project by running the equivalent of eight kilometres a day.
He started running on his 56th birthday on June 6 and so far he has clocked up more than 500 kilometres.
Mr Hettiarachi told the Tribune: “At the moment I am running with one of my friends and we are getting a bit bored.
“So if people would like to join us, please do.”
The Hunger Project helps to educate people in India, Bangladesh, Africa and Latin America to end world hunger through women-centred education and developmental work done with local communities.
So far Mr Hettiarachi, who works for Camden Council, has raised more than £1,600.
