Let down over flooding

02 February, 2018

• I HAVE to take my hat off to Partners. Flooding in our communal hall was stemmed, after waiting more than six hours, by a fire crew from the station in Upper Street (My dash to fire station when flat upstairs leaked water, January 12).

The water was flooding dangerously through the house electrics. In the aftermath, Partners carefully, thoroughly and honestly investigated the incident and found we had been totally let down by its no-show, out-of-hours sub-contractors, who even claimed to have attended.

Thank goodness the fire brigade doesn’t have to rely on a long chain of sub-contractors, in spite of the determined efforts by penny-pinching Islington politician Boris Johnson to shut fire stations.
