Man charged after spate of stabbings in Islington

An employee at Pentonville Prison was stabbed outside the prison on Tuesday
A man has been charged with a number of offences, including attempted murder, after officers linked him to three separate stabbings
Evans Innocent, 44, of no fixed abode, is due to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today(Saturday, April 25) charged with:
= Attempted murder on April 21 in Caledonian Road.
= Grievous bodily harm on April 3 in Trinity Road, Wood Green.
= Grievous bodily harm on April 7 in Whittington Park, Archway.
= 6 x possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife, in a public place.
= 3 x theft in a dwelling.
= Failure to comply with notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.
At around 6am on April 21 a woman in her 40s was stabbed in Caledonian Road, just outside of Pentonville Prison. She was taken to hospital and later discharged.
The following day Mr Innocent was arrested in Cally Road on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).
While in custody he was further arrested in connection with the incidents in Trinity Road and Whittington Park. On both occasions, men were stabbed in the leg. Both survived the attack.
