Mary Cosh: ‘It’s getting a bit too much now’
A 100-YEAR-OLD woman has called on telephone companies to step up and stop the scammers after she was bombarded by 10 nuisance calls in two days.
Historian Mary Cosh, the vice-president of the Islington Society who lives in Barnsbury, said it was “upsetting” to be repeatedly rung up and asked for her card details, most recently by someone pretending to be from Microsoft.
She said: “I am so irritated by these phone calls and I wish my telephone company could do something about it. It’s getting a bit too much now. I don’t have anything to do with Microsoft.
“I told them I would call the police but they started to get rude and aggressive and told me to call the military.”
Ms Cosh’s phone line is managed by Utility Warehouse Ltd. They did not respond to the Tribune’s request for comment.
