COUNCILLORS have served up turkey and mince pies as a thank-you to older residents.
The free festive feast, open to those over 70, was launched in 2010 after the council scrapped its own party in favour of catering for older citizens instead.
The choir from City of London Academy Highgate Hill provided entertainment at the Assembly Hall on Tuesday.
Islington Council deputy leader Councillor Janet Burgess said: “Older residents make an invaluable contribution to our community so this is our way of saying ‘thank-you’.”
