Motorcyclist who died after crash in Holloway Road named

The scene of the crash in Holloway Road
A motorcyclist who died following a collision in Islington has been named as Simon Palmer.
Police were called at about 8:30am on Thursday June 20 to reports of a road traffic collision between a motorcyclist and light goods vehicle (LVG) in Holloway Road, Islington.
Mr Palmer, aged 47, of Muswell Hill, was treated by emergency services but died at the scene.
Gary Spall, who witnessed the incident, said on the day: “I heard a smashing sound and the sliding of the bike. It was shocking. I can’t believe someone has died.
“About three or four people ran over and tried to revive him. Then the ambulance and police arrived about five minutes later.”
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate.
A man arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving has since been released under investigation.
