Motorists are breaking the law but we can make this junction safer

26 July, 2018

• I’M not sure why Richard Walker criticises both Steven Edwards and the Judd Street scheme when the problem of the blocked pedestrian crossings on Euston Road is motorists breaking the law (Highway Code rule 192: “In queuing traffic, you should keep the crossing clear”), (Pedestrians are being blocked, July 19).

But this law breaking happens everywhere so I can only assume that most motorists don’t even know they’re doing it.

What I do know is that adding an additional signalled light on the west side of the junction and removing left-turning vehicles from Judd Street will make life a lot safer for pedestrians trying to cross Euston Road at this junction.
