NIGHT Overground services are to be extended to Canonbury, and Highbury and Islington stations next week.
New operating hours will link passengers to the Victoria line Night Tube services for the first time from Friday, February 23.
More than 30,000 journeys have been made on the Night Overground launched in December between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate, according to Transport for London.
TfL said that extending the service two stops to Highbury and Islington on Friday and Saturday nights would benefit night-shift workers, including hospital and hospitality staff, as well as support the borough’s nightlife.
Matthew Segal, manager of Frederick’s Restaurant in Camden Passage, said: “This is fantastic news. The service will inevitably bring more visitors to the area.”
David Pyatt, general manager of O2 Academy Islington, off Upper Street, was “delighted” at the extension. Town Hall leader Richard Watts greeted it as “great news” for the borough.
