Now we have traffic pile-ups, pollution and chaos

04 October, 2019

• TO Cllr Claudia Webbe, I would say the voices critical of the proposed road layout were ignored, objection to the planned traffic routes rejected, so now we have the traffic pile-ups, pollution and dangerous chaos to negotiate.

Cars are now using the residential roads around the Highbury/Islington interchange, creating a dangerous maze of traffic routes and conflicting crossings.

What is there to be proud of: exposing the school children to traffic fumes, idling engines due to a forest of traffic lights, creating jams at intersections, eroding residential road surfaces?

A fundamental rethink has to take place to help sort out this calamity.
