Passer-by doctors jump in to help save collapsed rough sleeper’s life

TWO off-duty doctors helped saved the life of a homeless man who collapsed in the street as a shocked crowd in Camden Town watched him “brought back from the dead” in front of their eyes.

Leigh Wilson, who is in his second year as a foundation doctor, and Katharine Silverstone, a GP from Hackney, were passing by when they rushed in to play a critical role in saving the 39-year-old, who is believed to have suffered a heart attack.

Dr Silverstone said: “The quicker you can start chest compressions the better chance there is and having more people on hand means you can take it in turns and deliver more effective chest compressions.”
