A PANEL cleared an Islington police officer of gross misconduct on Friday following a four-day hearing in west London.
PC Buffy Pearce, who worked as a St Mary’s ward Safer Neighbourhoods officer, was accused of “bullying” Henry Hicks. Henry was a popular Angel teenager who died after crashing his moped while being followed by police in December 2014.
PC Pearce was alleged to have thrown away Mr Hicks’s hoodie sweatshirt before an exchange in a park off Upper Street two years before his death.
The complaint against the officer was one of many brought by Mr Hicks’s family following the 18-year-old’s death.
The three-person panel concluded that the allegations could not be proven.
