Perhaps it is time to reopen the old station at Junction Road (Tufnell Park)

10 March, 2017

• NOW that the Overground service between Gospel Oak and Barking has been brought up to scratch, perhaps now is a good time to revive interest in reopening the former station at Junction Road (Tufnell Park).

This shouldn’t be too difficult and would serve a fairly substantial catchment area.

Alternative links between Upper Holloway and Gospel Oak – around a couple of miles as the crow flies – are non-existent and practically impossible.

Unless you happen to be a crow. This is by no means a new idea.

I understand that both Camden and Islington boroughs have expressed support for the concept in the recent past and, given the new emphasis on this kind of orbital network, the project ought to be fairly straightforward.
