PM sprinklers jibe rejected

17 November, 2017

Prime Minister Theresa May

THE Town Hall has hit back at Prime Minister Theresa May’s suggestion that Labour councils are having second thoughts about installing sprinklers in tower blocks.

At Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday, Mrs May said: “Perhaps [Mr Corbyn] should look at what Labour councils have said about this… even Islington Council say they need to look at how effective sprinklers would be.”

An Islington Council spokesman said: “Islington Council is actively looking into the effectiveness of fitting sprinklers in council tower blocks.”
