Cheverton Lodge resident Audrey Stafford tries out the pod

AN Archway care home has set up sealed “visiting pods” to allow residents to see their loved ones during the new coronavirus lockdown.

Relatives of people living at Barchester Cheverton Lodge in Cheverton Road speak to them through an intercom system but can still see them through a screen.

Many care homes in the UK have had to stop visitors as part of attempts to stop the virus getting in.

General manager Earl Elliott said: “We are so pleased that we can offer these special visiting privileges to our relatives and residents, and continue to look at ways where we can make changes through these difficult times for all.”
