The organ at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church

THE ninth annual Organ Day arranged by Music in Bloomsbury jointly with Organists Online is being held at the Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, Shaftesbury Avenue, on Saturday (January 26). Previously, it’s been arranged around an organ-related theme. But this time it’s a series of snapshots of the interesting things going on in the organ world.

1pm: Michael Stephens-Jones, Selwyn College, Cambridge, is playing Buxtehude, Dupre and Franck.
2pm: The One-man Band – Philip lecture/recital given by Philip Norman.
3pm: Young organist Callum Alger plays Mendelssohn and Reger.
4pm: Masterclass with Dame Gillian Weir on Cesar Franck’s Three Chorales.
5pm: The Famous Bloomsbury Buffet, £5.
6pm: Celebrity recital given by US organist Isabelle Demers.
