Remembrance Day: Armistice centenary concerts

There are plenty of Armistice Day concerts to choose from throughout London. Local concerts include:
Sunday November 11 at St Stephen’s, Rosslyn Hill, 6.30pm. Linden Baroque and New London Singers are performing a mixed programme. Items include Handel’s Te Deum and Jubilate written to celebrate the end of the Spanish War of Succession in 1713 and pieces by Canadian composer Eleanor Daley, Vivaldi and Zelenka. Sunday November 11 at Emmanuel Church, Lyncroft Gardens, West Hampstead, 5pm. Wind and Words of World War One, a recital of clarinet music and poetry melodies and elegies performed by clarinettist Chris Hooker and poet Valarie Fry. http://www.emmanuelnw6.com
November 11 at St Saviour’s, Eton Road, Chalk Farm, 6.30pm. Recital performed by tenor Charles Daniels and pianists Christina Barrie and Timothy Roberts. Items include 15th-century piece L’homme armé, Haydn’s The Sailor’s Song and Novello’s The Laddie in Khaki. There are also pieces by Ravel, George Butterworth and Debussy. Free.
