Romario Opia stabbing: second teenager charged with murder

The 15-year-old was knifed to death in Archway in January

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Romario Opia, 15, in Islington have charged a second teenager.

The 16-year-old male was charged with murder on June 24. He was arrested on suspicion of murder on January 26 and released on bail.

The teenager appeared in custody at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on June 25. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on June 29.

Police were called to Holland Walk in Archway on January 25 at around 5.30pm following a report of a stabbing. Romario was found by emergency services suffering a stab wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.

A 17-year-old male was arrested in the early hours of January 28. He was charged with murder on January 29 .

A trial in his case is due to start at the Old Bailey on July 19 .
