‘Save our community centre’ fight
07 April, 2017
RESIDENTS on a Holloway estate are meeting tomorrow (Saturday) to discuss how they can continue to use their community centre.
Hyde Housing, which runs the Ringcross estate, has left the future of its community centre in the balance after launching a consultation aimed at finding new organisations to run it.
The housing association has said the annual cost of running the building is £106,500, while it brings in just £12,000.
But Friends of the Ringcross believe the centre could be run at far lower cost. The group is determined to fight to keep it open.
The 5pm meeting is at the centre in Lough Road.
