A PRIMARY school is fundraising to buy virtual reality headsets for children to use in the classroom.

Christ the King RC Primary School, in Tollington Park, Finsbury Park, wants its pupils to use VR headsets, for example to ‘see’ the Romans in history classes.

School business manager Susan Beveridge said the equipment could help “expand the children’s horizons”.

“A lot of the children come from the Andover estate, which is one of the most deprived estates in Islington,” she said.

“So what we are trying to do is introduce them to learning technology, things they wouldn’t necessarily see or get at home.”

The school needs to raise £1,500 before October 25. It hopes to get the equipment by Christmas.
