Take a seat on London Symphony Orchestra’s front lawn this Friday lunchtime (June 22) and enjoy energetic renderings of family-friendly sing-along songs led by Harriette Ashcroft and her band. The spirited “Inside-Out” gathering is the first of three LSO front-lawn concerts. Others involve Guildhall Brass on Friday June 29, and Gamelan Lila Cita on Friday July 13.

• Open to everyone is a “relaxed concert” given by the viola/accordion Diphonon Duo at Wigmore Hall on Saturday morning (June 23). There’s a relaxed attitude to noise and movement during the concert – audience keep an eye on their mobile phones, wander about and enjoy a cuppa afterwards.

• A selection of summer songs by Brahms, Vaughan Williams, Holst, Finzi and Elgar plus madrigals by Bennet and Morley are being sung by the Royal Free Music Society at St John’s Wood Church, Lord’s Roundabout, this Saturday evening (June 23).

• Music by Charles Villiers Stanford is being sung by the Hampstead Chorus at its summer concert at University College School this Saturday evening (June 23). Among items is Stanford’s seldom-performed choral setting of Tennyson’s The Revenge – “At Flores, in the Azores, Sir Richard Grenville lay…” and his unaccompanied part-work The Blue Bird.

• Young jazz musicians, get along to Foyles, Charing Cross Road, by noon this Sunday (June 24) to join the last NYJO Jazz Jam before the summer break. Leading the jam are guitarist/ musical juggernaut Phil Robson alongside Dave Whitford bass and Asaf Sarkis drums.
