Shocked by Grenfell Tower company’s role at Whittington Hospital

05 January, 2018

• DEFEND the Whittington Hospital Coalition would like to invite all patients to our public meeting in Islington town hall on Thursday (January 11) to join us in expressing our horror at the decision of the hospital board to employ Ryhurst, a subsidiary of Rydon, the Grenfell Tower contractor, to manage its multi-million pound estates strategy.

Wood Green and Hornsey MP Catherine West will open the meeting. She will be followed by Shirley Franklin, who will explain what has happened, and about our campaign. Moyra Samuels will speak from the Justice for Grenfell Campaign, and finally we will hear from hospital board chief executive Siobhan Harrington.

We are really shocked at the irresponsible, insensitive and immoral decision of the board to employ and to pay, out of our health monies and the sale of our hospital land, such a company, one that may possibly be facing charges of corporate manslaughter.

At this meeting you will have an opportunity to ask your own questions and express your own views on this distressing situation. We will be carrying out a vote to see how many support our demand to get Rydon out of our hospital.

The Get Rydon Out of Our Hospital, a public meeting being held at the Council Chamber, Islington Town Hall, Upper Street, N1 from 7.30pm.
