Shopkeeper heard woman “screaming” as man is stabbed in Caledonian Road

A man in his 40s was attacked in a Nisa Local news agents

A SHOPKEEPER said he heard a woman screaming as a man was stabbed in Caledonian Road today.

A man in his 40s was attacked inside the Nisa Local News Agents near Kings Cross, the police believe.

The Met were called at about 4:15pm to reports of a stabbing.

A man, who runs a food shop near the site of the stabbing, said: “I heard a woman screaming from my shop.

“I later heard from customers that her boyfriend had been stabbed by a guy just inside Nisa Local. We have so many stabbings these days.”

The man was taken to hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, the police say.

A female shop worker, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “There was a boy stabbed to death on Caledonian Road recently too. These kinds of things happen all the time now.”

Nedim Bilgin, 17, was stabbed to death in Cally Road near the junction with Tilloch Street on January 29.

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were arrested near the scene of Nedim’s murder on suspicion of murder on the night.

Three more men, two aged 18 and one aged 22, were arrested last Thurs- day. They have all since been released on bail.

There have not been any arrests in the Nisa Local case.
