So, what did I miss? Arsenal dino is not extinct after all

13 November, 2020 — By Calum Fraser

POPULAR Arsenal mascot Gunnersaurus made his first public appearance this week since claims he was extinct.

But questions remain about whether it is the same person underneath the green suit.

The dino posted a picture of himself at the Emirates Stadium with a big thumbs up on Monday saying he was “back”.

It was his first social media offering since it was reported in September that Jerry Quy – who has cheered on the club for the past 27 years dressed as the mascot – had been dropped as part of a cost-cutting exercise.

An Arsenal spokesman said: “As we’ve always said, Gunnersaurus is an important part of Arsenal and a popular figure for our fans around the world.

“Gunner never went away but due to the virus restrictions there have been limited opportunities for him to appear in public.”
