Teachers have never been less valued

• THE article on Robert Blair Primary highlights the complete lack of democracy in the workplace for teachers and support staff in schools (Parents’ concern as dozens of teachers quit, April 28).
The chaos that was obviously caused by failure to achieve consensus by management is basically excused as a price worth paying as the teachers were falsely accused of not providing consistent, high-quality teaching.
Teachers will leave if they are not appreciated. The quote from Wilf Langridge about ensuring consistent, high-quality teaching implies the previous teachers were not providing this.
It is an insult. Teachers have never been less valued by school managers. This is the road to fascism. It will start by the control of thought and opinion in schools. We are already on that road.
