The island of Ireland is two countries, not one

06 September, 2019

• I WRITE to correct Ivor Kenna of the Celtic League in his view that everyone in Ireland, north or south, is genetically Celtic irrespective of their religious views, (The people of Ireland are all Irish, August 30).

As a proud Ulster-Scot from Northern Ireland now living in London and a loyal subject of the Queen who is proud to be British, in no way do I identify with being Irish nor do I want to. I am British, end of story. The fact is that the island of Ireland is two countries, not one.
