To hold a global aviation festival here is obscene!

MPs including Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and Emily Thornberry show their support for Islington Council’s climate emergency
• ON June 27 Islington Council declared a climate emergency. Now, some 10 weeks later in Upper Street the aviation industry will meet for a glittering celebration of their lives and their work and of the speed at which they are making human life on this planet unsustainable.
It is an obscenity that the Global Aviation Festival should happen at all. As a member of Extinction Rebellion and an Islington resident, the fact they are here makes me feel physically sick.
In light of their declaration will Councillor Richard Watts, Claudia Webbe and other councillors make plain that the aviation industry is not welcome to hold their parties in our borough and join me and other protesters outside the Business Design Centre in Upper Street on Friday September 4?
