A NURSERY has dramatically improved its Ofsted rating in less than six months.

Westbourne Early Years Centre, in Bride Street, Holloway, was found to have good provision for children across the board.

After an inspection in the summer of last year suggested improvements, staff worked to ensure the most recent report saw Westbourne join the ranks of the council’s six other nurseries which have a “good” or “outstanding” rating.

Inspector Anneka Qayyum said: “The staff are friendly and form close bonds with children. They are sensitive to children’s needs and support their emotional wellbeing effectively.”

Nursery executive head Tracy Smith welcomed the inspection result. “Everyone in the team works really hard to provide high-quality care and education to ensure the best outcomes for children,” she said.

Schools chief Councillor Joe Caluori said: “Congratulations to Tracy and her team. We are delighted all their hard work has paid off and that we can be confident all of the council-run nurseries are of a good standard.”
